Kitchen Cops: 6 high performers, 1 low performer, 1 reinspection

HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - Many undertake thorough cleaning projects during the spring. Several local restaurants keep it clean all year long. There are six food businesses that scored well enough during their inspections to make the Kitchen Cops high performers list.

Scruggs Bar-B-Que at 7529 Moores Mill Road in Huntsville has been on the high performers list before, and they did it this time by earning a near-perfect 99. The staff at Lone Goose Saloon on Clinton Avenue in Huntsville also scored a 99.

The Firehouse Subs on Carl T. Jones Drive in Huntsville scored a 99, as did the Subway at the Walmart in Russellville. Also scoring 99; the SeƱor Taco food truck in Huntsville, and the deli at the Publix on Pelham Avenue in Huntsville.

Warren's BP Food Market on Highway 72 in Rogersville is this week's sole Kitchen Cops Low Performer, scoring an 83. The Lauderdale County Health Department reports chicken in a hot-holding case was 16 degrees under the 135-degree temperature needed to prevent bacterial growth.

The Chili's Grill on Cox Creek Parkway in Florence is now off of the low performers list after the staff earned an 89 for their reinspection, five points better than last time.
