3 arrested in iPhone sale-turned-robbery at Athens McDonald's
ATHENS, AL (WAFF) - Three people have been arrested in connection to a Dec. 2 robbery at a McDonald's in Athens.
The victim told Athens police he was meeting someone at the McDonald's on U.S. 72 East to buy an iPhone that was listed on Facebook's yard sale page. He said Two people hit in the head with a pistol, stole $250 from him and fled. He said they ran to a nearby getaway vehicle with a third person inside.
The victim was treated by EMS personal and released.
Athens police said the vehicle was located Wednesday afternoon at a residence in northeast Huntsville. After watching the vehicle, investigators requested assistance from the Huntsville Police Department.
Huntsville officers later stopped the vehicle on Oakwood Drive.
Tyrone Kim Edwards Jr., 19, was charged with first-degree robbery. He was transported to the Athens Police Department for booking then transferred to the county jail.
The second suspect was arrested Thursday afternoon. Police said they found Keonete Latraye Clay, 18, at his home in Huntsville. He was also charged with first-degree robbery.
A third suspect turned herself in on Friday. Cheyenne Marie Harris, 17, will be charged as an adult because of the Class A felony first-degree robbery charge, according to police.
