(WAFF) - The WAFF 48 First Alert Storm Team has declared a First Alert Weather Day beginning at noon Sunday until 7 a.m. Monday.

North Alabama temperatures will drop below freezing around 11 p.m. Sunday. The low Monday morning will be 23 degrees.

Temperatures are expected to rise at about 8 a.m. Monday.

Make plans early Sunday to protect your pets and plants. Most pipes will not be affected, however, the freezing temperatures could cause problems for irrigation systems.

WAFF 48 will keep you updated throughout the day on WAFF.com, Facebook, and on the air after Sunday Night Football.
