Huntsville police arrest man for gas station shooting

HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - A man is in custody following a Thursday morning shooting at a Wavaho gas station in Huntsville. 

Huntsville police responded to the Governors Drive location around 9:00a.m. due to a report of gunshots. 

Two men believed to be responsible for the shootings had already left the scene, but officers recovered two .25 caliber pistols. 

A gunshot victim arrived at Huntsville Hospital 30 minutes later with a wound to the leg. 

Police say 25-year-old Carthell Mosley returned to the Wavaho gas station around 10:00a.m. Police arrested Mosley and he was later charged with assault. 

Police believe Mosley shot the victim in the parking lot before fleeing the scene. 

Mosley is being held in the Madison County Jail.
