Accused hit-and-run driver found after Madison County wreck with injuries

MADISON COUNTY, AL (WAFF) - Alabama State Troopers have found the vehicle they say fled a wreck Friday morning.

The accident happened at about 9:30 a.m. on U.S. 72 near Dug Hill Road. Troopers say a sedan traveling northbound collided with a pickup truck at the intersection. The drivers of both vehicles were transported to Huntsville Hospital with serious injuries.

A third vehicle, a dark-colored sport utility vehicle, fled the scene. Troopers say the vehicle and driver were found later Friday.

Troopers identified the driver a Miranda Loveday. Jail records show she was charged with felony leaving the scene of an accident with injuries.
