COLBERT COUNTY, AL (WAFF) - A manhunt for two shooting suspects is over.

Jessica Lynn Hudson and John Starling Heath III were wanted for questioning in a Tuesday night shooting. Colbert County Sheriff Frank Williamson said they spent the night at a park then turned themselves in to the Tuscumbia Police Department Thursday morning.

Investigators say the shooting stemmed from a fight that broke out in Leighton off Cottontown Hill Lane. Williamson said the victim was shot in the stomach and is in critical condition.

Hudson and Heath are still being questioned but have not yet been charged in the shooting. Investigators are still trying to determine who pulled the trigger.
They are being held in the Colbert County Jail on other charges, including drug possession and fraudulent use of a credit card.

Williamson said before the suspects came forward, many tips came in from the public, and that always helps his deputies when they can't be everywhere.

"I get text messages, and actually they started texting me straight from them. But of course, I could never talk them into turning themselves in at that time. It was later that they did that," Williamson said.
