MADISON COUNTY, AL (WAFF) - Madison County deputies are investigating another clown case. This time, they showed up at a school.

It all started with a picture that's now been shared nearly 500 times. The photo shows two people dressed as clowns driving onto Meridianville Middle School's campus.

The school's principal, David Manning, released a statement on social media Tuesday afternoon saying the incident was dealt with immediately:

As you all know, student safety is our number one priority. As you may have heard we had a car come on our campus with people dressed in Halloween costumes. We noticed and dealt with the situation immediately. The Madison County Sheriffs Office was notified and is investigating the incident. Thanks to our fast acting teachers and staff the car never made it into the parking lot. We never went under lockdown and we have had a normal day of school. Thanks to everyone for your continued support of our students and our school. I just wanted to make everyone aware. Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns.

The sheriff's office is now investigating.

The school was never placed on lockdown. Everything remained normal.
