Deadline for Alabama Voter Registration is Monday

HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - In Alabama, you can register online, by mail or in person at your county board of registrars' office. Registrants have until midnight on Monday, October 24 to register to vote in the November 8 election.

All you need is a valid government-issued photo ID, such as a driver's license. You'll have to present it at the precinct on Election Day.

If you choose to register online you can quickly get through the process at AlabamaVotes.gov.

If you mail your form in it must be postmarked with today's date.

Here are the requirements you must meet to register to vote in the state of Alabama:

  • Be a citizen of the United States.
  • Reside in Alabama.
  • Be at least 18 years of age on or before election day
  • Not have been convicted of a disqualifying felony, or if you have been convicted, you must have had your civil rights restored.
  • Not have been declared "mentally incompetent" by a court
