MADISON COUNTY, AL (WAFF) - In an effort to keep prescription drugs out of the wrong hands, the Madison County Sheriff's Office is getting in on National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on October 22.

The collection site will be the CVS Pharmacy located at 5859 Highway 53 Harvest Al (the intersection of Highway 53 and Jeff RD.) There will be a sign directing citizens of the collection point. The time for the collection will be Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
This is your chance to safely get rid of leftover or unwanted prescription drugs lying around your home. The last way officials would want you to dispose of pills is by flushing them down the drain because the adverse effect is them ending up in the water system.

The Madison County Sheriff's Office is hosting the drug take back in conjunction with the Drug Enforcement agency.
