NASCAR driver beats the odds in first Sprint Cup Series
TALLADEGA, AL (AP) - NASCAR driver Ryan Reed will try for his first NASCAR Sprint Cup Series this weekend in Talladega.
Reed was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes several years ago, and doctors told him that his diagnosis might mean he would never compete at a high level.
With help from his physicians, Reed is doing well with his diagnosis. He even earned a win in NASCAR's second-tier XFinity Series last year.
