MORGAN COUNTY, AL (WAFF) - The Morgan County Jail warden has been relieved of his position, and he may be facing criminal charges.

Morgan County Sheriff Ana Franklin said Leon Bradley was fired after a hearing on Oct. 13 because of findings from an internal probe into claims of policy violations.

Franklin said the investigation is now criminal and charges may be forthcoming. For legal reasons, she cannot yet reveal what Bradley is accused of doing.

"Based on the fact that there is now an open investigation, which may result in criminal charges, I'm not at liberty to speak about what all that is," Franklin said. "It's certainly a sad day here in Morgan County. This is not something that we anticipated or would have expected. It's a difficult time when there's any termination, but certainly would as long as an employee with the sheriff's office as Leon Bradley was."

Bradley worked for the Morgan County Sheriff's Office for 13 years.
