DECATUR, AL (WAFF) - The Carnegie Visual Arts Center in Decatur is raising money for breast cancer research.

There's a special art exhibit downstairs in the art center titled "Brushstrokes for Breast Cancer." More than 20 local artists donated paintings that people can bid on.

The Rack Pack, a local group of breast cancer survivors, is helping with the fundraiser.

"This a great opportunity to be able to bring awareness to breast cancer research and the importance of early detection," said Kim Vice Mitchell, executive director of the Carnegie Visual Arts Center. "We're so excited that this many artists were willing to donate their work to raise money for breast cancer research."

Bidding is open until Oct. 21.
