911 call leads AL volunteer firefighter to violate sex offender restrictions

LIMESTONE COUNTY, AL (WAFF) - An Oak Grove/Thatch volunteer firefighter was arrested on duty for violating his sex offender restrictions.

According to court documents, Bobby Wayne Crow was arrested for responding to numerous calls that were within 2,000 feet of a school and day care.

Crow was first arrested in Athens in 1987 for raping a then 17-year-old girl. He was subsequently convicted and added to the sex offender registry.

Court documents show Crow most recently responded to a call with 2,000 feet of Ardmore High School.

Crow is now out of jail on a $30,000 bond.

Calls to his fire chief have not yet been returned.
