Authorities investigating viral video showing baby drinking alcohol

HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - Authorities are investigating a video that was posted on Facebook that shows a child surrounded by adults allegedly drinking alcohol.

The Facebook post says the video was discovered on an SD card in Tuscumbia. Investigators have nothing to indicate that this actually took place in Tuscumbia, however, they are treating this seriously and concerned about the welfare of the child in that video.

Police tell us they were tagged in the video earlier Wednesday morning and that's when it was brought to their attention. They're also working with other investigators in other Shoals area authorities on this.

Florence police are also assisting in the investigation and a spokesperson with the department says they've identified the adults and the baby in the video.

Investigators tell us they believe the video is several years old and the baby is now 5-years-old. Florence investigators believe the video may have been taken in the Gadsden area. Tuscumbia authorities report the video could have been shot in Louisana.

Investigators are in the process of contacting the Louisiana Department of Children & Family Services.
