MADISON COUNTY, AL (WAFF) - Power outages, storms and heavy rain affected many areas throughout Madison County on Saturday afternoon.

Huntsville Utilities' Electric Crews worked to restore service to affected customers in and around Northeast Huntsville. They said the isolated outages were caused by the severe thunderstorms that passed through the area.

Crews said they would work until service is restored. For a map of areas in the affected area, click here.

Residents in Lauderdale and Colbert counties also reported outages as well.

Several residents sent in pictures of the damage left behind. Others recorded flooded roads in their area. Trees fell in yards and on power lines which affected electricity for some.

Storms are expected to decrease by the late evening hours for most areas.
