West Morgan-East Lawrence Water Authority to hold meeting
DECATUR, AL (WAFF) - Changes are afoot for the West Morgan-East Lawrence Water Authority following last month's water crisis.
We're told those changes come as early as Thursday. We are talking about possible changes in the leadership ranks at the water authority.
The Board of Directors will meet Thursday morning at 8 o'clock according to the WMEL Water News Facebook page.
According to our news partners at the Decatur Daily speculation about changes within the leadership ranks at the water authority comes as commissioners from both Morgan and Lawerence Counties say that the public has lost confidence in the water provider.
Of course, all this comes after residents were advised last month not to drink the water in the area, which contained excessive levels of chemicals in the water that have been known to harm the body.
While moves have been made to fix the problem with the water contamination, so far no changes have been for those in charge of the water supply.
This morning's meeting is at 8 at the water authority on Kirby Bridge Road in Decatur. The meeting is open to the public.
