HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - This is expected to be the largest Rocket City Pride Event and organizers say they are ready. Hundreds of people as well as community leaders are expected to attend.

The parade will kick off at 11 a.m. on Saturday and will be followed by a memorial for the 49 victims of the Pulse night club mass shooting. There will be religious and non-religious ceremonies so the community can remember the lives lost in Orlando. As far as security, some have expressed concern over it, but event organizers say they take precautions every year.

Aside from Huntsville Police Department, a private security company will be there as well. James Robinson says many people say they will come out in support of the LGBT community and will not let terrorists win.

"What we've seen is some people talking about being afraid, but probably for every one of those 10, people have said 'I absolutely have to be there this year,'" Robinson said.

The parade will take place at the Huntsville Historic Depot on Church Street. Organizers say anyone who wants to is more than welcome to walk in the parade Saturday morning.
