Marshall Co. farmers experiencing some drought conditions

MARSHALL COUNTY, AL (WAFF) - North Alabama farmers are experiencing some drought conditions at the farm this year.

Farmers at the Guntersville Farmers Market said the recent rains over the weekend helped but not a whole lot. The area is seeing a shortage of rain in recent weeks.

Farmers said it's causing some problems with slower growth of crops.

Rita Green with Judy's Jungle in Gr ant said it's causing problems for her pepper crop and corn but squash seems to be doing well as it's preferring the drier weather.

Green said she's not overly worried right now but will be if rain doesn't come within the next week.
