HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - Runners are preparing for the annual Cotton Row Run. The race will happen on Memorial Day and runners are expected to come from all over the United States.

Those participating in the run are excited and hope that others can come out and show support.

"We're just celebrating Memorial Day by promoting health and fitness. And everybody needs to get out and get fit. You've gotta keep moving. It's a Huntsville tradition and we try to encourage everybody to get out. If you're not running or walking the 1 mile or whatever, come out and cheer the runners on," said runner Dink Taylor.

The 36th Annual Cotton Row Run will kick off Monday, May 30 with a 5K, 10K and 1-mile fun run.
