HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - The Alabama Court of Appeals has denied a Huntsville man's appeal to live in a trailer considered off the grid.
Tyler Truitt and his girlfriend Soraya Hamar had been living within the city limits but without city utilities.
The city had filed a lawsuit against the couple claiming that their lifestyle was unsafe, and a lower court found him guilty of violating a Huntsville zoning ordinance back in November 2015.
From the ordinance, the judge ordered Truitt to move the trailer in 14 days and placed him on probation for six months.
His trailer is located on Hood Road and is completely hidden from the street.
Truitt is a veteran and says the move violates his constitutional rights.
