Man airlifted for burn injuries after Albertville gas station fire

One person was airlifted to Birmingham after being injured in a fire at an Albertville Citgo.

Albertville Fire and Rescue say that the guy was working inside the gas station on Hwy 75 when the flames started.

He was transported to the UAB burn center with serious injuries.

When firefighters arrived, they saw flames shooting out of the front doors. They were able to extinguish it in an hour.

They say the inside of the business was completely destroyed.

Fire officials are investigating the cause of the fire.
