Decatur woman busted for forgery at bank

DECATUR, AL (WAFF) - A woman is facing charges after reportedly forging a large check at a Decatur bank.

According to the security specialists, Summer Mist Jacobs cashed a cashier's check for $3,850 at a Bank Independent branch on Beltline Road.

The bank noticed the discrepancy and immediately notified Jacobs that the check was forged.

On March 3, security specialists with Bank Independent filed a report with the Decatur Police Department.

Jacobs was arrested while at Decatur's Municipal Court and charged with second-degree criminal possession of forged instrument on April 13.

She was booked into the Decatur City Jail and later transferred to the Morgan County Jail in lieu of a $2,500 bond.
