Fort Payne police find meth, marijuana while towing vehicle

FORT PAYNE, AL (WAFF) - Fort Payne police found $1,500 worth of meth in a vehicle after pulling a woman over for a traffic stop.

Police say Marcia Marie Auman committed a traffic violation of illegally passing a vehicle in the area of Gault Avenue North.

While speaking with Auman, police determined that she was driving with a revoked license. She was written tickets for driving revoked, improper passing, and no insurance.

While police were inventorying Auman's vehicle before it was towed, they found a substantial amount of methamphetamine valued at $1,500.

Auman was then charged with possession with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana, and drug paraphernalia. She also had $1,149 on her.

She was transported to the DeKalb County Jail and is awaiting bond proceedings.
