Case sent to grand jury for shooting, killing during Jan. robbery

MORGAN COUNTY, AL (WAFF) - Christopher Swoopes is accused of shooting and killing Saul Ocampo during a robbery in late January.

Wednesday, a Morgan County judge sent the state's case against Swoopes to the grand jury after hearing arguments from both sides.

If indicted, then convicted, he could face a death sentence.

Swoopes turned himself into Decatur police three weeks ago, 36 days after the alleged crime.
