MADISON COUNTY, AL (WAFF) - A former high school soccer coach charged with human trafficking will go on trial next month as planned.

Defense attorneys for David Barrow asked a Madison County judge to continue Barrow's court proceedings which the judge outright denied.

"Today was a motion hearing. They had asked for a continuance. The judge denied the continuance, so it appears that we are still on for April 4." said Prosecutor Tim Gann. "The state is ready right now. We are prepared to try the case, and I believe I speak for everybody involved that we are ready to get this case started and get it behind us."

Barrow is in jail in Marshall County on related charges.
