Attorneys seeks trial delay for soccer coach charged with human trafficking
MADISON COUNTY, AL (WAFF) - Attorneys for the former Guntersville High School girls soccer coach who is accused of sex crimes in two counties say they need more time to review evidence.
David Barrow is charged with human trafficking, sexual abuse, and sodomy in Madison County. He also faces charges in Marshall County.
Barrow's trial in Madison County is scheduled for April 4. The defense says the forensic report for the examination of a computer will not be ready until March 22. Attorneys want a continuance so they can review the report.
Prosecutors filed a motion opposing this request. The district attorney says the state requested a special setting in this case because both alleged victims are pre-teens are require special preparations for trial. The prosecution states a continuance would cause both victims emotional distress.
The judge has set a hearing for March 22.
