CHEROKEE, AL (WAFF) - A part-time Cherokee police officer has been arrested after Police Chief Jason Williamson said he noticed evidence missing from his drug bin.
Williamson contacted his city attorney and ALEA officials who started an investigation and agents arrested Officer Nikki Inman around 6 p.m. Sunday night.
Inman is charged with tampering with evidence, possession of a controlled substance, and theft of property. She had a warrant out for her for a bad check.
She is a part time officer, used on an as-needed basis. She will not be asked back to work.
Inman started with the Cherokee Police Department in September 2015.
