Police find man with 79 grams of meth after chase, traffic stop

MARSHALL COUNTY, AL (WAFF) - Boaz police arrested a man on charges of drug trafficking, attempting to elude, and carrying a pistol without a permit.

Police arrested 21-year-old Henry Lee Green.

Police say the Marshall County Drug Task Force had been conducting surveillance on a home in Boaz on Jan. 7. The home had a large amount of traffic appearing to go to and from it.

They found out information about Green, and his car was seen near the home, so agents attempted to make a traffic stop. Police said that's when Green fled and led police on a chase to a local convenience store at the corner of Highways 213 and 68.

They said Green attempted to cut through some bushes but got stuck on the roots. He was pulled from the car and arrested.

Police found him in possession of approximately 79 grams of methamphetamine, nearly three times the weight needed for a trafficking charge.

He remains in the Marshall County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
