DECATUR, AL (WAFF) - Thursday, Decatur police arrested a woman for robbery at the Target on Point Mallard Parkway in Decatur.

Police said, Loss Prevention Associates of Target observed Lakedia Monique Townsend, 31, concealing items in her purse. Associates attempted to stop Townsend after she left the store without paying. She began fighting with the employees trying to get away with the items.

Because Townsend used physical force against the employees while committing the theft she was charged with robbery in the third degree.

Townsend was out on bail for another robbery that occurred at a different department store in Decatur last year. That case is still pending adjudication. Her bail has been set at $10,000. She is facing other felony theft charges in the near future.
