MADISON, AL (WAFF) - Madison police are looking for a small group of people believed involved in a Monday hold-up.

Police were called to the Publix on Highway 72 and Hughes Road around 5:30 p.m.

Three people approached the customer service desk. Footage captured on security cameras shows the clerk behind the desk answering a phone.

Investigators said the employee was instructed by the caller to give money to the man standing at the desk.

The employee complied, and then the group took off.

Police believe all three people in the footage are involved.

"They appear to be together because they're walking in the same direction," said Madison Police Captain Terrell Cook. "They're in very close proximity to each other, and they appear to have no legitimate purpose in the store. They're not carrying groceries; they're not standing in a checkout lane."

If you saw anything suspicious inside or outside the store Monday afternoon, you are asked to call Madison police.
