DECATUR, AL (WAFF) - Four people were placed in jail Tuesday on drug charges, after police responded to a home after reports of a gunshot.

Police responded to a 'shots fired' call in the area of Frost Drive and Browning Drive SW.

As officers approached a home on the 2900 block of Frost, a woman exiting the home saw police and began to run

At the same time, a man standing near the same door was seen holding an axe. Police said he then attempted to discard an amount of methamphetamine that was in his possession.

Inside the residence, officers discovered two other people who were found to be in possession of various drugs and paraphernalia including heroin, meth, and marijuana.

Police arrested and charged Traci Zehler, Richard Logan, Sherie Bowie and Shannon Eggerd with various counts of drug possession.

All four were taken to the Morgan County Jail.

Zehler was out on bond for two unrelated drug charges at the time of her arrest. An attempt will be made to have her previous bonds revoked.
