TENNESSEE VALLEY (WAFF) - The WAFF 48 Can-a-thon kicked off its 2015 campaign Monday helping to fight hunger in the Tennessee Valley.

We started off this year's drive in the Shoals, with our team at Walmarts in Muscle Shoals, Florence and Russellvile.

Thousands of cans and boxes of non-perishable food were stockpiled at our Can-a-thon stations, and we had fun meeting all of you who dropped by!

Donations came in all sizes - even by the cartload! We even met a young girl named Addy, who was inspired to go on a bit of a shopping spree, with everything she put in her cart going to the Can-a-thon.

Addy told us she loves chicken - but isn't fond of beans. However, she knows other people love beans, and that was among the items she donated.

"It's nice to do that," she told us.

We're adding photos to our Can-a-thon slideshow each day this week! Click here to see them!

Tuesday, we'll be in DeKalb, Marshall and Jackson Counties. You can also donate at all Redstone Federal Credit Union locations. Click here for all days and locations for Can-a-thon.

Send us your pictures of your Can-a-thon experience. You can use #48Canathon on social media to see your pictures on our Can-a-thon Social Media Wall.

You can also send pictures to pix@waff.com or upload them to pix.waff.com, or directly from the 48 News Mobile App.
