Lauderdale Co. Sheriff's Office assisting in Rogersville murder investigation

ROGERSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - Lauderdale County Sheriff Rick Singleton announced Thursday that his office will assist the SBI with their investigation into the murder of Connie Ridgeway.
Ridgeway was found dead in her Rogersville apartment Oct. 23. by a neighbor.
The SBI was appointed as the lead agency in the investigation by Lauderdale County District Attorney Chris Connolly at the request of Rogersville Police Chief Terry Holden.

Sheriff Singleton said the family requested that his office assist the SBI in the case.
"I feel our investigators can be of tremendous value in this investigation and we will do everything we can to assist in bringing the person or persons responsible for committing this crime to justice," the sheriff said Thursday.
No suspects have been named in the case. Ridgeway is the first murder victim in decades, if not ever, in Rogersville city limits.
