Traffic stop turned into drug bust in Decatur Thursday

DECATUR, AL (WAFF) - Decatur police pulled over a man for a traffic violation but ending up finding much more.

Thursday, Decatur Police Department's Anti-Crime Unit was patrolling in the area of State Avenue and Carridale Street SW, when they pulled Richard John Dalton Logan over for not wearing a seat belt.

While the police were questioning Logan they found a large quantity of methamphetamine.

Officers then arrested Logan and charged him with possession of a controlled substance, driving without first obtaining and no seat belt.

Logan was taken to the Decatur City Jail but will be transferred to the Morgan County Jail on a $3,500 bond.
