HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - State troopers are remembering one of their own killed on the job nearly two decades ago.

Trooper Willis Moore, was killed in a crash while he was driving to a traffic accident 19 years ago.

Troopers held a change of flag ceremony at Moore's gravesite at Indian Creek Cemetery on Plummer Road on Tuesday.

Troopers say the flag flying above his tombstone was several years old and faded.

They replaced it with a new one.

Moore had worked as a state trooper for one year before he died.

His family and friends say he's still missed.
He was all about helping people," said Moore's Sister, Charian Drake. " He was always about making this community a better place to live."
Moore was 34-years=old when he died. His family was given the old honorary state trooper's flag after the ceremony.
