Sheriff identifies woman killed in domestic dispute in DeKalb County
CROSSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - A Rainsville woman is dead after a domestic dispute Thursday night in DeKalb County.
Sheriff Jimmy Harris said his deputies responded to a home on Highway 227 in the Rhoden community after receiving a 911 call around 9:30 p.m. When they arrived, they found Johnny Osborn, 63, of Crossville, suffering from a cut or stab wound. They also found Donna Andrews Osborn, 49, of Rainsville was suffering from a possible gunshot wound.
Donna Osborn was taken to Huntsville Hospital, where she died from her injuries. Johnny Osborn was taken to Marshall Medical Center South, where he was treated and released.
Harris says the pair were married, but estranged.
"This is a tragic incident that has occurred, "said Harris. "Domestic violence is a common occurrence in America and in Alabama. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family of Donna Osborn."
Investigated interviewed Johnny Osborn and an autopsy was ordered on Donna Osborn's body. Her body was taken to the Huntsville Department of Forensic Science Lab.
The investigation into the altercation is ongoing.
