COLBERT COUNTY, AL (WAFF) - Members of the Colbert County Courthouse joined the Sheriff's Department, along with departments from across the country to pay tribute to fallen officers.

The National Sheriff's Association asked for departments and friends to join in for a moment of silence on Friday at 10 a.m. for the sheriff's deputy murdered in Texas last week.

"The whole courthouse joined in and made this special. We at Colbert County Sheriff's Office want to say 'Thank You' to all of our Law Enforcement including the county, city and state law enforcement officers. We appreciate your service and dedication to the citizens of Colbert County. At the end of the day we all want to go home to our families, so stay vigilante in everything you do and know that we are supporting each and every one of you," said Colbert County Sheriff Frank Williamson.
Many chose to wear blue instead of their team colors on Friday to show their support for law enforcement everywhere.
