Athens police investigating robbery of Domino's Pizza delivery driver

ATHENS, AL (WAFF) - Athens police received a call from a driver for Domino's Pizza Sunday night around 10:30 saying he had been robbed.

The driver told officers he was driving east on 9th Avenue at the intersection of North Houston Street when a black male walked in front of his car then up to the driver's side window and ask to use his cell phone.

The victim told the male he didn't have a phone and that's when the suspect  pulled a knife out and demanded the victim's money.

The suspect left with a small amount of cash and ran towards the  Houston Court Apartments.

The suspect is described as a black male in his 40s, with a medium build, between 5'8" - 5'11" in height, with short groomed hair and a deep voice.

The suspect was wearing a dark shirt and pants.

No injuries were reported, if anyone has any information they are asked to call Athens police at 256-233-8700.
