Lockdown canceled at Ardmore High School after bank robbery

ARDMORE, TN (WAFF) - The Limestone County Sheriff's Department and Ardmore police are responding to a bank robbery at CB&S Bank in Ardmore, TN.

Sheriff's officials say the robbery happened around 1:24 p.m. Friday. The suspected robber fled on foot and police are searching for him. Authorities say the suspect is a light-skinned black male wearing a white hat, long-sleeved blue shirt and wire glasses.

Ardmore High School Principal Randy Hamilton said his school was on lockdown because of the robbery. The lockdown was lifted around 3:30 p.m. The high school is less than a mile from the bank.

CB&S Bank is on Main Street in Ardmore. The FBI is assisting in the investigation.

A short time later, a credit union in Decatur was also robbed.
