This week Kitchen Cops had three low performers and two reinspections across the valley.
The Madison County Health Department handed the KFC in the 2400 block of South Memorial Parkway in Huntsville an 83 during their last inspection. Most of the problems concerned workers' drinks found where they are not supposed to be, stored next to food and next to cups for customers.
French Quarter in Sheffield scored an 82. The Colbert County Health Department reports there was a spray bottle with unknown contents without a label. The inspector also found employee drinks above and next to clean dishes.
New China Dragon in Madison scored an 84. The health inspector reports they discovered rodent droppings in a storage area. The restaurant also lost points because several containers still had food in them and were greasy after being washed.
The third time was the charm for Donna's Barn & Cafe in Elkmont. A score of 83 followed their previous score of 74, but an 89 this time is good enough to get off of the health department's reinspection schedule.
The staff at the Hardee's on South Jefferson Street in Athens also scored an 89, ten points better than last time as they earn their way off of the low performers list.
Two of the three Kitchen Cops High Performers this week are concession stands. The concession stand at the Huntsville Quarter Midget Association racetrack scored a 99. The concession stand at the Southern Adventures water park in Huntsville scored a 98 and Jimmy John's Gourmet Sandwiches on Northside Square in Huntsville also scored a 98
