Fyffe ready to repeat as season nears

FYFFE, AL (WAFF) - Devil Stadium is one of the toughest places to play in high school football - and now It's home to State Champions.

The Fyffe Red Devils captured their first-ever state championship eight months ago, and now after the long journey, Paul Benningfield's program, now the hunted.

"Being at the top, It's a real hard climb to get up there, you know, it's harder to stay," said Head Coach Paul Benningfield. "Of course a small school, you got to use what you got, you gotta find people to play, we got what we got, our guys work hard. If you go out and do what you can do and try to repeat, and that's all you can do."

The Red Devils must find someone to replace Austin Stefel, who did it all for Fyffe, and other key seniors gone from a year ago. Now some youngsters will have to step in and be ready for Week One.
