ETOWAH COUNTY, AL (WAFF) - An Etowah County man was arrested and charged in connection to sexual abuse of a 14-year-old victim, according to Etowah County Sheriff Todd Entrekin.

"Skyler Greyson Copeland, 22, of Hokes Bluff, was arrested Monday and is charged with one count of second-degree rape and one count of second-degree sodomy, both are felonies," investigator Brandi Fuller said.

Copeland allegedly had sex with a 14-year-old female and admitted to investigators that the incident took place at a Hokes Bluff residence in May 2015.  The two met on a social media website. The incident was reported by a family member of the victim.

He is currently being detained in the Etowah County Detention Center on $20,000 cash bond.
