Shooting in Grant: 1 dead, 1 in custody

GRANT, AL (WAFF) - One man is dead after a Saturday afternoon shooting in the Marshall County city of Grant.
Police were called to a home on the 1400 block of Winkles Road just around 2 p.m. to respond to a fight.
During the fight, investigators said one man was shot. He died at the scene. Investigators identified the man as 37-year-old Matthew Lee Ponder.
One person is in custody, according to the Marshall County Sheriff's Office.
Neighbors said there have been several altercations at the home in recent months.
The investigation is ongoing.
