Spice, loaded gun seized in Decatur arrest

DECATUR, AL (WAFF) - An Athens man was arrested by Decatur police after they discovered a large amount of synthetic marijuana in his car.
Police stopped a Chevrolet Cavalier at the corner of Gordon Drive and 4th Street on Monday.
Officers said the driver, Timotheus Tyree Mason, was in possession of the synthetic drug, commonly known as spice, along with prescription medication without a valid prescription.
A loaded gun and drug sale paraphernalia were also found.
Police said Mason had a previous conviction for robbery and is prohibited from possessing a firearm.
He was arrested and charged with trafficking synthetic controlled substances, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and a weapons charge for the gun.
Mason will be transferred to the Morgan County Jail in lieu of a $10,500 bond.
