Limestone Co. sheriff: Athens man in jail for drugs, eluding police

LIMESTONE COUNTY, AL (WAFF) - A 19-year-old man in Athens is in jail after sheriff's deputies said he eluded them earlier in the week.

Limestone County investigators say they believe Cruz William Arispe, a convicted felon, fled them on Wednesday. On Thursday, sheriff's deputies pulled over a vehicle that Arispe was in on Mooresville Road at Thatch Road.

Deputies say that once Arispe was searched, the discovered meth, oxycodone pills, 100 squares of acid, and buprenorphine.

In all, Arispe faces 10 charges, including, drug possession, attempting to elude police, and a felon in possession of a firearm.
