HARTSELLE, AL (WAFF) - Drug agents with the Morgan County Sheriff's Office arrested a man for the manufacture of meth.

On Wednesday, Morgan County Sheriff Ana Franklin says the Morgan County drug task force was alerted by a Hartselle-area pharmacy that a repeat customer was attempting to purchase cold medicine containing pseudoephedrine.

Officials say 24-year-old Patrick Gunnar Prater was stopped by Hartselle police, who obtained consent to search Prater's vehicle. Officers say that during the search, a box of cold pills containing pseudoephedrine was located.

Investigators with the drug task force agents arrived on scene and spoke with Prater and learned that cold pills were being traded to an individual to manufacture methamphetamine.

Patrick Prater was arrested and charged with manufacturing of a controlled substance. Prater was transported to the Morgan County Jail on a $5,000 bond.
