MADISON COUNTY, AL (WAFF) - The trial for a man charged with murder after his alleged accomplice died during a robbery ended before it began Monday.

Brandon Pride was charged with the murder of John Colvin.

Investigators say Pride and Colvin tried to rob three men on Monticello Drive in July of 2013.

The robbery victims fired shots and hit Colvin, who died.

Jury selection was due to begin Monday, however, according to the Madison County District Attorney, Pride entered a guilty plea before selection began.

The judge in the case sentenced Pride to 70 years in prison.
