MORGAN COUNTY, AL (WAFF) - A Tennessee Valley-area club of horse-riding enthusiasts spent time this weekend partaking in another interest - keeping our green areas tidy and clean.
Members of the Hazel Green-Toney Saddle Club celebrated National Trails Day on Saturday with a trek to the Blackwell Swamp area of the Wheeler Wildlife Refuge.
With horses and trash bags in tow, club members made a "clean sweep" of the trailway, gathering any litter they came across.
Club members said they collected six large trash bags full of garbage.
Most of that refuse was your standard cans and bottles, all of which they plan to recycle. They also recovered one discarded fan belt.
