DECATUR, AL (WAFF) - Decatur police arrested a man on drug and weapons charges Tuesday.
Tony Franklin Parker is charged with two counts of unlawful distribution of a controlled substance and three counts of possession of a controlled substance.
Police said Parker was the subject of an investigation that stretched several months. They said he distributed large amounts of prescription medication during that time.
Investigators performed a search of Parker's residence and found three different types of controlled medications, drug use paraphernalia, along with several loaded guns and a large amount of cash.
Parker was taken to the Morgan County Jail in lieu of a $68,000 bond - $50,000 of which must be paid in cash.
The cash bond was requested due to Parker's additional charge of being a certain person forbidden to possess a pistol; police said this is due to Parker's extensive, multi-state history of violent crime.
