HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - Huntsville police responded to a call of an armed robbery at a gas station on 2880 Jordan Lane on Friday night.

Police say a woman walked into the gas station with a stick that had a nail sticking out of it. Using it as a weapon, she tried to rob the store.

The store clerk fought back, receiving a puncture wound to the hand.

A customer saw the robbery and called police from his car in the parking lot.

The woman then ran out of the store, got in her car and drove down Mastin Lake Rd.

Police began a short pursuit and apprehended the woman at a Starbucks near the intersection of North Memorial Pkwy. and Mastin Lake Rd.

While she wasn't able to steal any money from the gas station, she is still facing armed robbery charges.

Her name has not yet been released.
